The world’s greatest long-distance runner, Scott Jurek, is able to run up to 150 miles nonstop, and he does it faster than anyone else — powered by a plant-based diet. You do NOT have to be an athlete to reap the benefits. Plant foods take a lot of stress off of your digestion, providing you with an increased amount of energy to easily handle every day’s situations and enjoy the things you love. Eating plant-based optimizes your immune system functionality and helps your body to recover quickly.
Nutritional Powerhouses
Ever heard someone say that consuming vegetables and fruits is not good for you? Probably not. Plant foods contain all essential nutrients with the exception of Vitamin B12 (While this is found in some algae and fortified foods, we recommend supplementing B12 as it’s super easy and cheap. So while plant foods burst with heaps of vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and antioxidants, they come without all the detrimental stuff that’s found in animal products.

Weight loss
Fruits and vegetables have fewer calories but more water and fiber which help you fill up without overdoing it on the calories. Consuming less saturated fat will also contribute to the weight loss process. Since they are mostly high carbohydrate foods, their caloric density is much lower compared to fatty animal-based foods. This means you can eat a lot more salads, potatoes and apples for the same amount of calories than eggs or sausages. Furthermore, the abundance of essential micro-nutrients in fruits and vegetables satiate you on a cellular level and reduce your cravings to a great extent. These can only be found as traces in animal products.
